The wrestler turned actor, 53, took to Instagram in the early hours of Friday, July 25, to mourn the WWE icon, with whom he famously shared the ring in a memorable “icon versus icon” match at WrestleMania 18 in 2002.

Hogan spotted Rock in the crowd a month later, giving him a headband of his own to replace the one he returned. Fast forward to WrestleMania 18 in 2002, and the two of them would share a ring in a cross-generational match that has gone down in history as being one of the best ever at WrestleMania.
